2nd Palmerston North History

The Birth of 2nd Palmerston North
2nd Palmerston North was started in 1941 by Merv Dearsley. 
It was a attachment of the Associated Church of Christ which at the time was based on Campbell St in
the middle of Palmerston North

From Campbell St to Batanical Rd
In 1960, our church moved, from Campbell St to our current location on Botanical Road.
The Old premises was sold to the Savage Club, and can still be viewed today.


The Last 30 years
In 1982, Brian Best took over the role of Captain for 2nd Palmerston North, replacing Bob Odriscoll.
Team Section at that time was run by Bill Baker.  A few Years Later, Ian Franklin joined, as an officer.
Below is a photo taken at a cycling camp, held in 1984 at Camp Kilsby.

In 1995, the 10th Palmerston North Company closed down and 2nd Palmerston North gained several new
boys as well as a new officer, Mr Richard Bruce.
Unfortunately, Richard passed away on the 2nd September 2005.


2nd Palmerston North Today
Today, 2nd Palmerston North enjoys a healthy growth rate.  The Company is still led by Brian Best as Captain, with assistance from the other dedicated leaders.
Below is the latest company photograph.  This is at our 2008 breakup which was held at Central Baptist.
